What we collect

You do not need an account to read MarketUpDown, and we do not ask for your name, phone number or email address. We do not sell your personal information.

When you visit, some information is collected automatically by us and by the services listed below: pages you view, the time of your visit, the page that sent you here, your browser and device type, screen size, language, an approximate location (city or region) and your IP address.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

Cookies are small text files saved in your browser. We and our partners use them to count visits, understand how the site is used, and show and measure ads.

• Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics to tell new and returning visitors apart and to measure page views.

Other services we use

• Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, it handles your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.
• Our market data service (api.marketupdown.in) sends the live share prices you see. Your browser asks it for prices, so it receives your IP address and browser details in its server logs. We use these logs only to keep the service running.
• Share buttons for WhatsApp, Telegram and X are plain links. Nothing is shared until you tap one, and those apps then follow their own privacy policies.
• Links to other websites, such as exchanges and company filings, follow those websites' own privacy policies.

How we use information

We use the information described above to run and secure the site, to understand which stories are useful, to fix problems, to show ads that keep the site free and to reply to your emails. We do not use it to make any decision about you.

How long we keep it

Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account, which is at most 14 months. Emails are kept only as long as needed to answer you. Google and Cloudflare keep data as described in their own policies.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and similar laws where you live, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent. Write to us at the email below and we will reply within 30 days.

Children

MarketUpDown is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
